The function and purpose is the supervision of the overall maintenance of building systems within the Student Recreation Complex (SRC), UREC Field Complex, and UREC Central Plant. This includes scheduling preventive maintenance, working with maintenance contractors, and coordinating with LSU Facility Services. This position also supervises two full time positions directly and one full time indirect report. These positions are responsible for departmental inventory, fitness equipment maintenance, and outdoor grounds maintenance and associated student staff.
30% Facility Maintenance:
Oversee daily maintenance and inspection of all UREC facilities and infrastructure; determine task priority; Perform or supervise preventative maintenance to preserve appearance and function to all facility equipment to include; air handlers, chillers, pumps, boilers, and associate monitoring equipment; Digitally document scheduled maintenance to be performed on department inventoried items.
25% Project/Asset Management:
Estimate job costs, specifications/design, and safety compliance; Assist the department with long-term deferred maintenance, capital improvements, and equipment plans with a designed and maintained repair and replacement plan; Conduct assessment, write monthly reports, and maintain/track data to determine effective use of departmental infrastructure; Make critical decisions that impact the successful operation of facility equipment; Oversee financial operations related to facility maintenance to include supplies and staffing.
Responsible for providing effective leadership to maintenance staff; Administer department procedures necessary for appropriate, safe, and orderly use of all building system equipment; Provide formal and informal feedback to subordinates.
20% Professional Engagement:
Give feedback on departmental programs, equipment, and operations by engaging daily in programs and using equipment/facilities; Immediately report safety concerns to the functional area supervisor; Represent UREC on various University/community functions, committee work as assigned; Contribute positively to the work environment by participating in honest dialog that is indicative of the departments culture of teamwork; Be active professionally through presentations, speaking engagements,& involvement in professional associations; Willingly shares all information with department teammates in an effort to provide high quality outcomes that contribute to student success; Maintains positive co-worker relationships and fosters an environment of trust and inclusion; Provide coverage during evenings, weekends and special events as assigned by department need
Bachelor's degree and at least three years of full-time experience working in an applicable environment relative to job duties.
