The Director is responsible for developing and directing intramural recreational sports and activities to meet the needs of the campus community; assisting with the operation and administration of the Student Recreation Center; functioning for the Director of Campus Recreation in his/her absence; serving on-call for evening, weekend and holiday facility operations on a rotating basis; serving as social media coordinator; maintaining website information posting; assisting with other programming activities and special events. Some responsibilities will require evening and weekend hours beyond the normal workday. This is an eleven month, full-time position.
Required: Bachelor's degree; a strong commitment to the development, welfare, and empowerment of students as patrons and employees; excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills; computer experience with Microsoft Office and Word Press applications; first aid/adult CPR with AED certifications. Preferred: master's degree; at least one year intramural programming experience; sports officiating experience; demonstrated initiative and self-direction; a commitment to ethnic and cultural diversity; knowledge of budget preparation and fiscal management.
