The Department of Sports and Recreation at Kennesaw State University is seeking a qualified candidate for the Senior Coordinator of Fitness position. The Senior Coordinator of Fitness assists with the strategic planning for the OwlFit program to include: budget management, marketing, sponsorships, assessment, personnel management, legal and risk management, and interdepartmental collaborations. Promotes sports and recreation services and offerings in accordance with the university, division and department mission and core values. A vital component of this position is a strong commitment to teamwork, customer service, ethical leadership and student development. This position supervises and manages the personal training program on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campus including the student employees. This position also supervises the Group Exercise Coordinator. This position reports to the Associate Director of Programs.
Provide leadership, oversight, and direction for all fitness programs including group exercise classes, personal and small group training, fitness assessments, instructional programs, orientations, workshops, seminars, customized fitness programs, incentive programs, and special events
Develop a comprehensive training and leadership program for student employees in the OwlFit Program
Develop and maintain annual area-specific operating budget
Train, mentor, and supervise one full-time Group Exercise Coordinator and approximately 15 part-time personal trainers
Collaborates with campus partners and academic units to develop and implement programs and events that contribute to student success
Research, purchase, and evaluate over $400,000 worth of equipment including but not limited to free-weight, group exercise, personal training, and functional training space equipment
Monitor daily operation of recreational fitness programs to ensure safe, clean, well-maintained fitness equipment, assessment space, training space, and group exercise studios
Develop, plan, and implement long-range strategic plans for assessment of student development, learning outcomes, evaluations of fitness programs, services and staff
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Hiring Salary $47,476

*Bachelor's degree and 3+ years professional full-time experience administering a collegiate comprehensive fitness program
* Primary Group Exercise Certification and/or Personal Training certification from a nationally recognized and accredited certifying agency
* Willingness to work a varied schedule including nights and weekends as needed
* Strong organizational, management, and communication skills
* CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
* Excellent customer service skills
* Master’s degree from an accredited College or University
* Previous experience supervising at least one full-time professional staff member
* CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor Certification
* Knowledge of student development principles
