Essential Duties: Nelson Physical Activity Center 1. Management a. Supervise the operation of the Nelson Physical Activity Center b. Safety and Accident prevention c. Maintain security of the building, including working some night and weekend hours 2. Coordinate the Intramural Sports and Group Fitness Programs 3. Scheduling a. Coordinate scheduling of all facilities used by HPER, recreational sports, intramural sports, group fitness and intercollegiate athletics b. Maintain daily, weekly, quarterly and yearly scheduling of all applicable facilities c. Maintain an up-to-date facilities priority document d. Initiate suggestions for change in priority usage document 4. Develop a job description for a NPAC Assistant and Group Fitness GA and supervise his/her performance of duties 5. Insure that periodic inspections are made of the facilities and in cooperation with the Maintenance department. Schedule daily, seasonal and annual routine maintenance 6. Develop and supervise budgets
Secondary Duties: 1. Coordinate Wellness Program 2. Provide schedule of activities for recreation and hire/supervise student personnel 3. Be a positive public relations person and encourage extensive utilization of the facilities 4. Promote and schedule a wide variety of external uses of the facilities 5. Supervise facility staff, NPAC graduate assistant, and student workers 6. Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree Able to acquire First Aid and CPR certifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Sports Management, Recreation, Physical Education or closely related field Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of facility and equipment operations Previous experience with recreational management, collegiate level intramurals, and program development First Aid and CPR certifications
