The Coordinator of Facilities and Operations is an integral part of the Department of Campus Recreation at the University of Northern Colorado and is responsible for overseeing many of the day-to-day operations within the Campus Recreation Center. This position provides leadership and direction for student employees and programs that are designed to provide positive leisure and informal recreation opportunities for students. In addition, this position is responsible for member services and relations, pro shop sales and services, recreational and aquatic programming, and student-employee development. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations.
The Coordinator of Facilities and Operations must possess the physical strength and endurance required to conduct the following activities: leading groups in informal recreational programs, working extended periods of time at the entry desk, moving heavy equipment (forty-five pounds or more) and sustaining high levels of activity over long periods of time.

A Bachelor’s degree in Sport Administration, Sport and Exercise Science, Higher Education, or related field is required. A Masters degree in Sport Administration, Sport and Exercise Science, Higher Education, or related field is preferred.
A minimum of one year of full-time experience (or 2 years as a graduate assistant) in coordinating recreation facilities or programs and supervising student personnel in a college or university setting is required. A demonstrated record of experience in recreation operations including facility supervision, event planning and scheduling and recreation programming is required.
CPR, First Aid and AED certifications are required.
The required abilities for the Coordinator of Operations include the following:
a) Knowledge of general recreation programming; b) Student employee management skills; c) Ability to interpret and apply industry research; d) Effective written and verbal communication skills; e) Customer service and policy enforcement skills; f) Ability to apply student development principles; g) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; h) Ability to work with diverse student populations.
Satisfactory completion of a background check, educational check, and authorization to work in the United States is required after a conditional offer of employment has been made. The successful candidate must submit original transcripts within one (1) month of hire.
