Upper Iowa University invites applications for the position of Director of Campus Recreation. The Director of Campus Recreation is a member of Student Life and reports to the Assistant Dean of Student Life. This position serves as the manager for all campus recreation related matters, including the recreation center, swimming pool, intramurals, group fitness, outdoor pursuits checkout, club sports, and recreational community programming and activities, and administrative operations. The successful candidate will provide leadership, management, administration, and oversight of all day-to-day operations and activities of campus recreation. Responsible for the recruitment, screening, hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, and evaluating of campus recreation center staff. Responsible for the development, implementation, management, and control of the recreation center budget. Oversee program, sponsorship, and membership development.
Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in the leadership and management of a recreational center, preferably in a University setting. Experience in a supervisory capacity a must. Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders. Strong written and oral skills. Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration/Management, Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Parks, Recreation, Physical Education or closely related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
