The Assistant Director of Event Operations provides vision, leadership and management for facility scheduling, event coordination and supervision of the Events and Facility Operations Coordinator (1 FTE) and student staff (25) within the Department of Recreation Services. This is a twelve-month, University Staff position. Position is responsible for planning, organization, coordination and execution of the department's facility scheduling and associated logistics and use of resources. Schedules events for Recreation Services to include indoor and outdoor facilities: meeting rooms, fitness studios, pools, gyms, ice rink, indoor turf and outdoor playing fields and courts using EMS scheduling software and Fusion calendar for both internal and external customers.
The major components of this position include event scheduling and logistics, event management, staff supervision, special projects and professional development, fiscal management and quality control for programs, services and facilities.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in recreation, sport management, commercial recreation, tourism, business, hotel management, or related field.
Minimum of two years progressively responsible experience in scheduling facilities, event management or operation of a multi-use facility.
Experience in a hotel, association, university or related event scheduling setting.
Experience working closely with a scheduling software.
Experience leading or supervising facility or event related staff.
Prefer Master's degree from an accredited college/university in recreation, sport management, commercial recreation, tourism, business, hotel management, or related field.
