Plan, program, schedule, publicize and evaluate a comprehensive aquatics program to include a diverse array of offerings to meet the needs of the campus community. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Half Acre Pool and Spa as well as Corbett Pool during scheduled Campus Recreation hours.
Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, develop and evaluate all lifeguard personnel with the necessary skills, certifications, and competencies for supervising aquatic activities. Lead monthly lifeguard in-services and ensure aquatic staff is within compliance for operations. Implement aquatic and safety education instructor training programs that emphasize instructor development, quality programs and customer satisfaction.
Oversee the facilitation of staff emergency preparedness drills. Coordinate safety training for Campus Recreation student employees. Oversee accident reports and maintain departmental records.
Maintain and update safety protocols and procedures for aquatic program.
Coordinate, schedule and direct risk management and safety related certifications for Campus Recreation employees, UW students, faculty, staff, and outside entities, including, but not limited to: American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED, Biohazard, lifeguard certifications, and Wilderness First Aid.
Serve on University and departmental committees and projects as appointed. Represent Campus Recreation by contributing to university-wide committees that further the overall mission of the University. Serve on departmental committees and complete necessary tasks which advance the objectives of the department.

Bachelor's Level Degree and 2 years employment experience in an aquatics facility such as a recreational facility

Auto External Defibrillator/CPR Certification
2 years full-time professional experience working in a recreational aquatic facility
Demonstrated experience in swimming pool day to day operations
Experience hiring, training, and supervising part-time staff
Experience training lifeguard staff in compliance with appropriate safety and education standards
Experience organizing and teaching safety related courses
Experience with Risk Management practices in campus
American Red Cross Lifeguard Certified
