The University of California, Riverside Recreation Department seeks a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive professional to assist the Assistant Recreation Director of Ropes and Youth Programs in the student staff development and supervision of the Ropes Program. Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Valid Driver License
Red Cross CPR.
Standard First Aid Training Certification.
Level 1 Routesetting Certification
Challenge Course Certification
Completion of Level 1 Challenge Course Practitioner Certification within first 12 months of hire date
Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
Ability to successfully pass FBI and DOJ Criminal Check.
Must possess or obtain a valid drivers license in accordance with the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
Ability to drive and provide transportation for students to schools and event sites.
Advanced degree and/or volunteer work can be applied towards the years of experience requirement.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across the organization. Demonstrates advanced client service leadership, entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking skills to resolve non-standard issues. Advanced proficiency in the use of computer applications relevant to job duties. Highly effective service orientation; program management, sound judgment and decision-making, critical thinking skills, skills to develop original ideas, creative problem solving skills in a varied and challenging environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Demonstrated ability to incorporate key program information for inclusion in web-based and other marketing materials. Advanced knowledge of program activity and best practices. Demonstrated ability to analyze and improve programs and processes as needed.
