The Department of Wellness at Oklahoma State University is seeking dynamic and qualified candidates for the position of Health Education Coordinator. This position will assist with all aspects of the peer health education programs including marketing, recruitment, training and supervision of student peer educators and evaluation of existing peer education program. Responsible for the Wellness State Freshman Orientation program, including program marketing and coordination and recruitment, training and supervision of current and future Freshman Orientation facilitators. Shall assist in assessment of student issues and concerns and incorporate outcomes into future programming. Responsible for coordinating health education programs and awareness events, and for serving as a resource for health information the greater university, City of Stillwater, and State of Oklahoma. This will include interviews with campus media, participating on or with university committees and task forces and other activities as directed. May include presentations and lectures in support of the academic mission of the University. Communicate departmental policies and expectations within the Health Education department. Collaborate and coordinate, between departments as needed for special events. Oversee and assist with supervising all Graduate Students and day to day operations of Health Education department. Handle employee performance issues. Oversee and assist with student work schedules. Responsible for all goals set each year including but not limited to budgets, policy and procedure development, and programming numbers. Assist in the development of the annual budget. Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health or related field and one year of work related experience. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work with little supervision. Able to discuss sensitive topics with students in non-threatening atmosphere.
Master's degree in Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health or related field and three years of work related experience in a supervisory capacity.
