The Wellness Center is searching for an enthusiastic and motivated leader to serve as the Fitness Coordinator. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of all Fitness Programs including group fitness, personal training, individualized exercise program development, and fitness testing. Other responsibilities include: train, schedule, and provide leadership to approximately 65 group fitness, personal training, and fitness floor staff. Manage all operations for programs, facility reservations, inventory, and the maintenance, repair, and replacement of all cardio and strength equipment.
Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Health and Human Performance, Athletic Training or related field
Two years related experience in a fitness setting
One year experience supervising full or part-time employees in a fitness setting
Current group fitness or personal training certification from a nationally recognized fitness organization
Demonstrated experience with program development and financial management
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and organization
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
Fitness experience in a college or university setting
Knowledge of student development and the ability to promote fitness programs to a campus population
Knowledge of and experience with a variety of cardio and strength equipment
Experience as an ACE Continuing Education Provider instructing personal training and group fitness certifications
