Carnegie Mellon University is currently seeking applicants for a Coordinator of Intramurals & Club Sports within the Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation department.
Responsibilities for this full-time 10 month academic year position include the coordination, supervision and organization of the total intramural and club sports programs. Provide high quality opportunities in a variety of indoor and outdoor intramural recreational activities. Hire, supervise and train student employees in intramural program. Monitor student worker payroll hours and responsible for equipment budgets. Oversee club sports affiliated with university athletic department. Serve as a club sport advisor with club teams and hire (independent contractor), evaluate and supervise paid coaching staff and student workers. Work collaboratively with Student Activities staff on finances and club sport requests. Other responsibilities will include teaching in our Physical Education program and leadership within our outdoor recreation program. Evening and weekend hours are required. Candidates must have a commitment to academic excellence with exceptional communication skills. Background check will be required prior to employment.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred in recreation, physical education, sports management, or related field, with 1-3 years in experience in college or recreational program direction.
