Graduate Assistant – Student Engagement
Advises students in the areas of programming and promotion for the Office of Student Engagement (OSE) events. Assists in the development of event programming in the areas of the Campus Activities Board (CAB), evening and weekend programming & other OSE signature programs. The graduate assistant will maintain and update OSE electronic forms and databases; update OSE Social Media on all platforms, coordination of OSE activities calendar. Compile, moderate, and assemble assessment data for all OSE programs & events; maintain and update OSE website. Assists with training students on committee management, program proposal & development, and budget management and involves evening and weekend work and other duties as assigned. This position will also assist with the planning and implementation of Orientation, Week of Welcome, Spring Fest, Late Night Breakfast, Homecoming, and other OSE signature programs. This position will also serve as a co-advisor to the Gold Members Spirit Group, Panther Advisory Leader (PALs) and LeaderShape. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Student Engagement. This assistantship is full-time minimum of 20 hours per week, with the expectation of working evenings and weekends. Event programming experience is desired but not required.

Bachelor’s degree required;
Enrolled in a Master’s Degree Program at Prairie View A&M University (preferably in Education, Counseling or Higher Education or Student Personnel Services);
Able to complete a minimum of 25 office hours per week; (may vary depending on need)
Able to work evening hours for event coverage;
Able to multi-task projects and work effectively with students.
Additional Salary Information: •$14 per hour - $14,400 for the entire year to be paid bi-weekly *Subject to change depends on OSE funding
