Position Summary Under the general direction of the Assistant Director- Facility Operations and Fitness, the Business and Marketing Coordinator is a full-time professional (12-months) who provides leadership for the diverse and dynamic areas of Campus Recreation which include direct oversight of business and marketing operations. The Business and Marketing Coordinator must maintain good communication with Campus Recreation professional and student staff members about administrative and program marketing needs, and the status of the projects/marketing materials under production.
The Business and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for leading, offering feedback and teaching new techniques in Graphic Design, Photography, Video and Marketing Campaigns to students. This position is also responsible for the daily business administration of the SRC, some other recreation programming as well as professional contributions to the overall operations of the SRC.

Minimum Classification Qualifications Four years of experience as an editor reviewing and correcting written materials for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax errors and modifying copy to conform to standards of style, length and ease of understanding.
A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, or related field may substitute for two years of the required experience.

Provide direct oversight (development, implementation, coordination and review) of the marketing operations, content publishing, and utilizing all additional responsibilities for the Recreation Center
Develop, plan, and manage the marketing, publishing, and outreach of all Campus Recreation programs, facilities and services
Perform the design function to provide professional level print and web publications, including but not limited to, brochures, newsletters, flyers, social media platforms and web pages
Manage a production calendar and meet important academic/departmental timelines. Coordinate project deadlines, manages workload, and remains current with departmental needs
Assess, develop and evaluate marketing and media outreach initiatives Conduct studies related to departmental areas, evaluating information and prepare reports which may include thorough analysis of users and provide recommendation(s) on a course of action for improvements.
Collect, analyze and present data in a wide variety of forms to support participation, recruitment and retention
Develop and implement assessment tools for conducting regular surveys, analyze data and create quarterly and annual reports for departmental areas

Represent Campus Recreation at a variety of events on campus (Raider Registration, New Student Orientation, Weeks of Welcome, etc…)
Provide mentorship and supervision to the SRC Operations student-staff
Assist with departmental staff trainings
Assist department in developing long and short range operational and program strategic plans and goals
Assist with the coordination and presentation of campus and divisional leadership endeavors including retreats, conference attendance, forums and workshops
Collaborate with departmental areas to assess and evaluate staff learning outcomes and customer satisfaction
Assist with the planning and execution of large-scale departmental events
Attend and participate in required SOU and Campus Recreation training, meetings and workshops
