The department of Campus Recreation within the division of Student Affairs is seeking a Coordinator for Fitness.
The Coordinator for Fitness will work with the Assistant Director of Fitness and Wellness to oversee all operations and actions within a comprehensive fitness and wellness program. This position works closely with strategic university partners to integrate fitness into university-wide wellness initiatives and educational programming.
Assisting in the development and implementation of a comprehensive fitness and wellness program.
Overseeing the administration of fitness programs that include Personal Training, Group Fitness, Small Group Training, and Fitness Center.
Recruiting, Hiring, and Supervising 2 Fitness Managers and approximately 15 Certified Personal Trainers, 20 Certified Group Fitness Instructors/OPS employees, and 40 Fitness Center employees.
Teaching the Personal Training Preparation Course and/or the Group Fitness Instructor Preparation Course each semester.
Managing the planning and implementation of specialized fitness programs including various fitness outreach events.
Overseeing implementation of safety procedures to ensure equipment operates within required risk management procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

Master's degree from an accredited institution in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Management or related field, or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Management or related field and two years of professional experience coordinating a comprehensive fitness and wellness program required.
At least one current fitness certification from a Nationally Accredited Organization required (i.e. ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA, etc.)
Previous experience managing fitness and wellness programs and supervising staff in a higher education setting.
