The Coordinator of Fitness and Wellness, under general supervision, oversees comprehensive fitness and wellness programs and instructs fitness courses.
This position typically works Monday-Friday; 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. May work beyond normal office hours to include evenings, weekends, and peak times.
Develops and implements a comprehensive fitness and wellness program, including nutrition information and counseling, weight training, cardiovascular training, aquatic fitness, fitness assessments, and blood testing.
Supervises assigned staff.
Organizes, schedules, implements, and evaluates fitness and wellness activities.
Oversees the development, implementation, and management of fitness and wellness budgets.
Establishes and oversees risk management policies for fitness and wellness programs.
Assist in the development of long term goal development for the Department of Recreational Sports
Assists with department, division and campus wide programs and initiatives such as ring ceremony, commencement, and orientation.
Develops programming alternatives and additional sources of revenue production.
Serves on divisional and college-wide committees.
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field and three years of related experience in fitness programs.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effective management skills. Ability to instruct fitness courses.
First Aid and CPR certified. Group Exercise Instructor certified.
Must be able to be First Aid, CPR/AED Instructor Certified within six months of employment. Current certification in personal training or group exercise from a nationally recognized fitness organization (ACSM, NSCF, NASM, AFAA, ACE, NETA etc.)
