Manage day to day events within the HLS Facility and Field House primarily for Recreation, Intercollegiate Athletic, and Exercise Science Community Health events. Manages over 12,000 events annually in the HLS Facility, Field House, and University Park Facilities. Coordinates facility reservations, identifies risk management issues and ensures conflicts between users are solved in a professional manner. Develop and maintain effective relationships with facility users. Administer contracts that includes reviewing, planning,and executing events. Coordinate and communicate facility set-up diagrams to staff and patrons. Responsible for ensuring ADA, state fire codes, and building emergency action plans are followed. Manage patron complaints and solve customer service issues. Supervises the activities of graduate assistants and undergraduate students in ensuring that HLS and Field House facilities are opened and closed at the posted times, that event set-up / tear-downs are executed as stated in customer contracts. Generates all deposits and daily reconciliation of all cash, credit, and check transactions for the HLS and Argo Adventure Kids Camp.
Participate in departmental student learning outcomes by planning and implementing staff training and provide first responder CPR/ First Aid for the facility staff and departmental staff. Serve on University committees, task forces and teams as assigned. Represents Recreation and Wellness, Enrollment and Student Affairs and the University at/on local, state, regional and/or national events/committees. Maintain professional currency through active engagement with NIRSA and the NCAA.
Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of
appropriate experience: or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience.
Professional Experience supervising student staff. Event Management
Experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledgeable in Student Development Initiatives, Conflict Resolution, and Time Management skills are critical for this position. Knowledge of EMS Scheduling Software and Fusion Rec Management
