The Department of Fitness and Recreation at Belmont University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Graduate Assistant for the 2019-2020 school year. Positions include:
Graduate Assistant, Marketing and Business Operations
Graduate Assistant, Fitness and Wellness Programming – Personal Training and Educational Programming
Graduate Assistant, Fitness and Wellness Programming – Group Fitness and Special Events
Graduate Assistant, Intramural Sports
Graduate Assistant, Facilities Management and Informal Recreation
Acting under the direct supervision of the Directors of Fitness and Recreation, this position will assist in the supervision and delivery of daily activities of the Beaman Center and Fitness and Recreation programs. Assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Beaman Center, including but not limited to, managing the facility outside of traditional business hours and on weekends, supervising 50-60 student employees, logging facility and equipment maintenance issues, and executing risk management procedures, as needed
Assisting with the recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of student employees
Creating professional development programs and opportunities for student employees
Marketing and promotion of departmental and programming area specific brand
Collecting and analyzing pertinent assessment data in reports submitted on a weekly, per-semester, annual, and per-event basis
Assisting with the execution of special events and educational programs, as needed
Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Exercise Science, Physical Education, Sports Management, or related field
Enrollment in Belmont University Graduate Studies program, knowledge and experience in recreational facility and program management strong interpersonal communication skills, as well as organizational and supervisory skills
Maintaining at least 6 hours of credit per semester to be eligible

Additional Salary Information: Stipend of $10,000 for 10-month appointment. Exact dates will be determined based on the Academic Calendar. Graduate Assistants will also receive 6 hours of academic class tuition credit per semester.
