The Graduate Assistant for UREC, Marketing & Events position with Seattle University Recreation works with the Assistant Director of Fitness & Marketing to manage and coordinate all marketing and events for the department. Through oversight and execution of the departmental marketing vision, branding and yearly campaigns, the Graduate Assistant will assist in the promotion of UREC’s programs and mission to the Seattle University community. The Graduate Assistant will supervise the team of Marketing Managers and University Recreation’s Student Events Committee.
Assist with the administration, execution and evaluation of all marketing operations including but not limited to: social media, web, print and digital designs, multi-media, photo and video projects
Administer, assess, and evaluate marketing campaigns and promotions
Assist with the supervision of the student Marketing Manager team consisting of 4-8 staff
Create and edit high quality graphic design for both print and digital platforms
Create and maintain departmental and program/operational area branding
Maintain updated content and themes for the UREC website
Manage and execute social media marketing plan
Work with campus partners to enhance marketing and communication
Distribute promotional items
Act as a UREC brand ambassador
Work with stakeholders to plan and execute UREC Yearly event: Project Positive, a positive body image campaign
Advise the UREC Student Events Committee
Assist with coordination of a departmental student staff leadership program
Plan and coordinate departmental events such as but not limited to End of the Year Celebration and Awards ceremony, holiday events, and student leadership retreats
Research information for future events, programs, or projects

Employment will only be granted upon acceptance to a Seattle University Master’s program, either Student Development Administration (SDA), Sport Business Leadership (MSBL) or Albers School of Business
At least two years of experience or involvement as an undergraduate in recreational sports, sports marketing, and or related field
Effective communication skills and conflict management skills
Special event experience
Familiarity with social media platforms and their purpose
Competent with Microsoft Office Suite
Competent with Adobe Creative Suite
Competence or ability to learn web design practices and programs (TerminalFour)
Special event experience
Experience editing photos and compiling video footage
Experience with graphic design
Additional Salary Information: The Marketing & Events Graduate Assistant is a 9-month position renewable for an additional academic year. Stipend of $15,602.00 (subject to change) for August 2019-June 2019.
