University Recreation at the University of Arkansas is seeking candidates for Graduate Assistant position in fitness programs to help them achieve their mission to serve the campus community by providing a diverse selection of recreational opportunities and facilities, which are designed to enhance the quality of life for each participant:
Group Fitness Programs: Graduate Assistant in Group Fitness Programs assists with the day to day operations of the University Recreation group fitness program. This position is responsible for the schedule of group fitness classes, approximately 60 group fitness instructors and fitness monitors, assist with daily operations including registration, record keeping, reporting, special events, marketing, equipment upkeep, and instructing the ACE Group Fitness Prep Course. Contribute to collaborative departmental programming and training efforts, teach American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid Classes. Additional duties as assigned. Compensation: Graduate Assistants receive a $14,315 stipend annually plus tuition waiver (fees excluded) and professional development stipend (pending funding) for a minimum of 28 work hours per week. Each Graduate Assistantship begins July 1, 2019 and concludes June 30, 2020 with the option to renew for a 2nd year.
