Organize, schedule, and supervise daily operations of the Maverick Activity Center, Physical Education Building, and Aquatics Complex.
Hire, train, and supervise student facility staff of over 100 employees responsible for daily informal recreation activity and safety of over 4,000 daily visitors
Inspect and monitor cleanliness of facility and ensure equipment is adequate and safe for use.
Supervise facility usage by on-and-off campus groups during special events and facility reservations
Provide guidance, supervision, and service for the indoor and outdoor pools 30 hours a week for lap and recreational swimming for the UTA community.
Serve as a liaison between the Department of Campus Recreation and the Department of Kinesiology to establish swim times, staff lifeguards, and pool openings and closures.
Review and revise departmental policies and procedures.
Keep abreast of current safety regulations and assure adherence to safety regulations.
Serves on departmental committees.
Performs other duties assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Leisure Studies or related field. Two years of experience in Recreational Sports or related field required. Experience must include student employee supervision, procedure and policy development and implementation, and familiarity with sports/gym equipment and trends.
Master’s Degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies, or related field. Professional involvement with NIRSA. CPR teacher certification.
Working Conditions: Occasional travel, irregular work hours, manual labor or other conditions unique to this position.
