Quinnipiac University’s Department of Athletics & Recreation seeks applications for a Fitness Center Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operation of university fitness centers located on the three university campuses. In this role, you will be responsible for the supervision of fitness equipment and fitness center staffing.

Adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and work in compliance with all University, NCAA, MAAC Conference, ECAC Conference and Big East Conference rules and regulations
Supervise equipment maintenance, repair and daily cleaning
Recruit, train, supervise, mentor and develop a diverse fitness staff
Schedule the front desk and supervisor staff for the Fitness Center on all campuses
Manage budgeted hours for staff in conjunction with Student Employment protocol and utilize the Kronos system for staff payroll
Work with other recreation staff in programming fitness facilities
Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures as they apply to recreation and its programs
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree required
Master’s degree in recreational sports administration or related field preferred
1-2 years of relevant work experience
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (or ability to obtain the certifications upon hire)
NIRSA member preferred
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational leadership and supervisory skills
Able to work effectively as part of a team as well as have the ability to work in a diverse university environment
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and/or a commitment to diversity and inclusion
