The Assistant Director for the Aquatic Center will serve as a leader within the Recreation Center. They will oversee the Aquatic Center and develop and implement a comprehensive aquatic program that meets the needs of the Rice University community. Additional responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, training and evaluating all staff for the Aquatic Center, and instructing courses within the Lifetime Physical and Summer Youth Activity Programs.

Required: Bachelor's degree in Recreation Administration, Kinesiology, Physical Education or a related field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Sport or Recreation Management or related field. At least three years of experience in aquatic administration and programming. Must be highly organized, possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate initiative and creative thinking. Must present a professional image and have excellent written, oral, and presentation skills. Must be an effective communicator, supervisor, trainer and mentor to students. Must have the ability to make sound judgments and decisions in a calm manner.
