This position is responsible for the overall management of day-to-day activities and programs associated with the HRC operations, aquatics and risk areas. This includes hiring and evaluating the effectiveness of student staff as well as Operations Intern, oversight and promotion of aquatic programming and related activities, as well as facility schedules. Oversee membership coordination for 4000+ students and approximately 600 non-student members including software and database management, membership registrations, membership policy, and locker room management. Contribute to BU|BeWell by coordinating programs and services for students that advance an intentionally-inclusive campus community.
Responsible for the overall management of day to day activities and programs associated with the HRC operations and aquatics areas. Operate, promote, and market programs associated with the HRC aquatics area. Supervision of swim lesson programs, lifeguards, building and control desk supervisors. Coordinate facility schedule for the HRC. Oversee all aspects of day-to-day HRC operations including usage policies, facility scheduling, rental agreements, special events, facility repair/maintenance, security and access systems, and pre-event planning, and serving as the HRC liaison with various contractors, among others.
Recruit, hire, train oversee continuing education for approximately 120+ student staff and 4 part-time staff that make-up the lifeguard, swim instructor, building supervisor and control desk supervisor staffs, and operations intern
Work with campus partners to insure effectiveness of aquatic center mechanical equipment and the use of best practice for facility maintenance and upkeep.
Risk Prevention and Preparedness Manager - hire and oversee the Risk Coordinator; certification and program offering decisions; equipment decisions and ordering; ensure RPP campaign is marketed as wellness in collaboration with the Marketing Coordinator; communication with campus partners

Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required, master's degree preferred - in sport management, administration, recreation or related field
Experience - 2 years in Aquatics as a pool manager and operating swim/aquatic programs.
Advanced skill levels in Certified Pool Operations, ability to train life guards and swim instructors, current knowledge of pool operations and aquatic programming, knowledge and understanding of local health codes and compliance, student development theory, and other related expertise.
First Aid/CPR certification, water safety instructor certification, American Red Cross life guard and instructor certifications, American Red Cross professional rescuer certification.
