Reporting to the Director of Recreational Sports within the Student Affairs Division, the Fitness Coordinator is responsible for providing quality fitness programs and services for University students, faculty and staff members. Responsibilities:•Plan and implement the daily management of the 20,000 sq. ft. fitness center and ancillary fitness rooms •Recruit, hire, train and evaluate group exercise instructors, fitness staff and personal trainers. •Ensure staff is trained in emergency procedures. •Purchase and maintain necessary weight and cardio equipment. •Schedule, coordinate and market group fitness/wellness program, weight room management and instructional group exercise classes.•Collaborate with other on campus entities for programs and wellness initiatives.
Requirements:•Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or related field from an accredited institution. •Applicant must be self-motivated, service oriented and able to work successfully in a college environment. •Applicant must be able to manage university fitness programs, group exercise classes, and weight/fitness training activities. •Documented certification(s) through, AFAA, ACE or ACSM, nationally recognized certification in personal training/group exercise, AED/CPR and First Aid.
