Manages a sub unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures. Represents the sub unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.
Hire, supervise, schedule, train, mentor, and audit a staff consisting 40 Lifeguards, 10 Lifeguard Instructors, and 20 Water Safety Instructors.
Assist with day-to-day operations of the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim programs, CPR/AED, and Lifeguarding courses.
Partner with Assistant Director of Aquatics in areas of facility management.
Complete administrative duties including certification tracking, payroll, facility usage, and program assessment.
Bachelor's degree with two years supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal six years.
Master’s degree in a related field. American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, and Certified Pool Operator/Aquatic Facility Operator. Upon hiring, individual is expected to obtain & maintain the certifications above. American Red Cross certification in Lifeguard/CPR/AED and Water Safety Instruction. Substitutions may be made for other certifying agencies with 2 or more years of experience.
