The Recreation Department at the University of California- Santa Barbara is looking for an energetic, student focused professional to join our team.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director for Operations, the Member Service Coordinator is responsible for the design, implementation, coordination, and the general supervision of the Recreation Department's customer service functions. Responsible for program registration, locker rentals, towel service, laundry, lost & found, facility access rights, membership sales, equipment checkout, and retail sales. Establishes and maintains service oriented policies and procedures related to the operation of all Member Service areas including the Customer Service Center, Rec Center front desk, and Equipment Centers.
Recruits, selects, trains, schedules and evaluates staff. Implements programs to measure development of employees, volunteers and students. Provides a quality control system for maintaining high customer service standards.

Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years of customer service management experience. Ability to use basic computer programs including Office Suite products. Strong customer service skills required, preferably in a membership related environment. Demonstrated ability to hire, train and manage student employees. Strong office administration and organization skills. Satisfactory completion of a fingerprint background check. Mandated reporting requirements of child abuse.
Preferred: Bachelors degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sport Management, or a related field preferred. Masters degree preferred. Five years progressive experience in Campus Recreation field preferred. Experience with a recreation member management software.
