Nanook Recreation is excited to list the position of Intramural Graduate Assistant. The position works under the supervision of the Intramural Coordinator to create dynamic programming for our UAF community. We anticipate an opening for January 2020 - Spring semester.
• Organize and schedule leagues with the assistance of IMLeagues • Market program offerings • Recruit, hire and train IM referees • Assist AD of Wellness with disciplinary actions • Establish best practices for the league rules • Assist AD of Wellness in equipment management • Assist in special event programming hosted by DRAW • Develop and maintain a budget for IM program
The Intramural Graduate Assistant is tasked with developing comprehensive training practices for the referees we employ. They will also utilize IMLeagues to schedule and communicate with the participates in each of our respective leagues. Each semester we encourage the graduate assistant to host weekend tournaments of their choosing. In years past, creativity has shown through by hosting Battleship, Ice Glow Dodgeball and Crate Stacking.
In addition to a great opportunity to grow as a professional in the field of recreational sports, UAF offers a variety of graduate school programs. Our graduate assistants are encouraged to explore the programs offered and work towards a degree they are proud to hold.

Successful applicant must be accepted to the UAF Graduate School (in the program area that interests them) prior to fall semester 2019 (many masters programs have an application deadline before March 1). The Assistantship includes a tuition award, health care coverage and a stipend. This position is 20 hours per week during the academic school year.
