The Competitive Sports Coordinator in Recreation and Sport Operations is a full-time, 10-month part-fiscal year appointment responsible for the comprehensive management of the Intramural Sports program which includes league and tournament play, facility scheduling, budget development, marketing, and the recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling and supervising of student employees. The Competitive Sports Coordinator is also responsible for the comprehensive management of the Club Sports program, which includes the supervision and oversight of 27 clubs, budget development, facilities scheduling, event supervision, and policy development and implementation. This is a renewable assignment, contingent on performance. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The intended start date is August 1, 2019 with June and July short work break.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A bachelor’s degree required in Recreation, Sports Administration, Physical Education, Student Affairs, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. At least two years of professional experience (two years as a graduate assistant count towards the two-year requirement). Excellent written and oral communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills; ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure; ability to create and maintain a program budget. Knowledge of software programs including IMLeagues and InnoSoft Fusion a plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:A master’s degree preferred in Recreation, Sports Administration, Physical Education, Student Affairs, or related field. Experience working in higher education, supervising or advising students, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
