Under the direct supervision of the Associate Director - Business Operations for Campus Recreation, the incumbent will coordinate all student personnel operations related to departmental recruitment, hiring, on/offboarding procedures, new hire orientation, payroll processing, evaluations, accountability, data collection and appreciation events for student employees and graduate assistants. The coordinator is responsible for fiscal administration of student personnel operations, assessment of student personnel related goals and objectives, and the direct supervision of student support staff and/or a graduate assistant.
Manage Handshake (university student recruitment site through Career Center) on behalf of Campus Recreation for the recruitment and documentation of student employment.
Work with the SubItUp enterprise network/software to ensure accurate student records and certification processes are maintained accordingly and compliant with TU policies.
Coordinate student recruitment and hiring processes to include marketing, application review, interviews, and onboarding.
Recruit, interview, and conduct initial screening of student applicants for employment with Campus Recreation during the fall and spring semesters annually.
Verify applicant credentials (CPR, First-Aid, Lifeguard Training, etc.) and check references as needed.
Verify that all required forms have been completed for adding a student to the State/University payroll system prior to job training and shift scheduling.
Coordinates new employee orientation (NEO) and training to include risk management, emergency response training and certification, customer service training and departmental onboarding.
Coordinate and lead the facilitation of annual Fall semester all-student employee orientation programs for all student positions.
Evaluate and oversee administrative procedures for student staff accountability related to departmental policies and procedures.
Maintain student employee Blackboard content and other avenues of communication with student employees.
Coordinate all background checks with Human Resources for any student employee who will be working in the presence of/with minors.
Bachelor’s degree from a credited college or university.
One year of full-time professional experience (two years of GA experience will count as one year of professional experience).
Experience interviewing and screening job applicants.
Experience training students or professional employees.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a diverse environment.
Current CPR/AED or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Computer competency and experience with presentation software, multi-media training programs, and database management software.
Experience conducting workplace safety and/or customer service training.
SubItUp software usage/experience
Blackboard administrative experience.
Experience working in a campus recreation department or related field staffed with student employees
