The department of Campus Recreation is seeking an Associate Director of Programs and Wellness Initiatives.

The Associate Director of Programs and Wellness Initiatives will:
Provide leadership and supervision for all Campus Recreation programs (fitness and wellness, competitive sports, and outdoor adventure programs).
Develop strategic plans, goals, and measurable objectives for Campus Recreation programs.
Ensure the planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of programs and policies are conducted in accordance with established standards.
Collaborate with key stakeholders on and off campus to develop a comprehensive approach to creating and supporting a culture of well-being for a diverse university community.
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate a diverse group of professionals to assist with overseeing and implementing programs.
Provide effective customer service delivery.
Conduct program evaluation and assessment.
Incorporate stakeholder feedback and assessment data into program development.
Assist the Director with budget development and budget management of all programs and special events within Campus Recreation.
Research and benchmark programming trends and opportunities for growth.
Assist with the development of annual programming strategy and event scheduling.
Assist with the implementation of risk management procedures.
Assist with department and division wide programs and initiatives.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Education, Sports Management, Physical Education, Recreation, Higher Education or related field and four years of related professional experience with progressive responsibilities; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Education, Sports Management, Physical Education, Recreation, Higher Education or related field and six years of related professional experience with progressive responsibilities required.
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
Strong leadership, team management, interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook.
Excellent interpersonal, written communication skills, presentation skills, and quality customer service skills.
Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
