ROLE of the POSITION The Business and Administrative Coordinator provides leadership for the recreational operating software, accounting, finance, HR, and business functions of the Campus Recreational Services Department. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to; implementing new facility software, developing policies, procedures, manuals, training and maintenance on the department/SRWC facility operating software Web and Rec Trac, coordinating and reconciling financial transactions, recruitment, hiring, and compensation, support for the Campus Life Business office account manager, budget preparation, and reporting functions of the department. Will be given autonomy to implement Rec Trac and Web Trac membership software (activity and financial software for the Student Recreation and Wellness Center) develop departmental training and consistently manage system upgrades/updates. Will provide Workday training to Campus Recreational Services employees (as needed), responsible for large departmental purchases and recording equipment inventory, communicating with vendors, assist with the development, implementation and coordination for multiple aspects of Campus Recreational Services marketing and publicity including orientation presentations, working with photo services, media services, and web services. Responsibilities also include policy and procedure development, data analysis, record keeping, and preparation and maintenance of supporting schedules for budgets and reporting. This position will directly recruit, hire, train, and supervise student employees and the Administrative Assistant II. This position will train and develop the Admin Assistant II to perform the following responsibilities: provide oversight and review of transactional activity processed through Workday for accuracy, compliance, and effective reporting; manage employee onboarding and exit process (175 student employees, 6 graduate assistants, 36 full time staff); handle travel arrangements and coordinating reimbursements for faculty, staff, and students; etc. Ability to work some nights and weekends as needed. On call response within 30 minutes.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications: A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and 9 months graduate assistantship experience in collegiate recreation, athletics, or commercial/city recreation experience. Preferred Qualifications: Two years of relevant experience as a graduate assistant. Strong knowledge in the area of Rec Trac, Workday, When to Work, recreational programming, and facilities. Experience in business administration, budgeting, or related field. Assessment and analysis experience. All successful candidates will have the ability to assess student needs, value a high degree of student contact, interact effectively with a wide diversity of people, have excellent interpersonal skills, communicate well in verbal and written form, and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.

University of Nevada Las Vegas is a public, research university located in southern Nevada. The first college-level classes in southern Nevada on an extension basis in 1951 in a spare room at Las Vegas High School. Six years later, the university was founded officially as a southern regional division of the University of Nevada by action of the Nevada Board of Regents.
Twenty nine students accepted degrees at the universities first commencement ceremonies in 1964. The following year, the Nevada Legislature named the school Nevada Southern University, and the board of regents hired the campus’ first president.
