The Department of Recreation, Fitness, and Wellness at the University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a full-time Program Coordinator of Intramurals & Club Sports.
As Program Coordinator of Intramurals & Club Sports, you will work with a team to help organize, administer, promote, supervise and evaluate a comprehensive Intramural Sports program for students, faculty and staff of the University and to oversee the operation of the Club Sports program.
Responsibilities include: • Select, train, evaluate, and manage payroll of student staff • Develop and implement an effective risk management program • Coordinate and maintain budgets for individual sport activities and each of the Club Sport teams • Manage incidents, participant conduct and administer a Sportsmanship Rating System • Plan, schedule and lead monthly Club Sports council meetings • Coordinate the practice times and facility usage between all Club Sports teams • Maintain inventory, purchasing, care and check-out of all equipment
Essential Knowledge & Skills: • Bachelor's degree in physical education, recreation, sports management or related field required. Master's degree in related field preferred. • One or two years' experience in collegiate intramural and recreational programs required including experience with recreational sports activities programming and management and tournament scheduling. • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required. • Strong risk management and organizational skills required. • Officiating experience with ability to teach and conduct officiating workshops and clinics required. • Ability to work with a diverse group of internal and external individuals required. • Ability to work independently or in a team environment to motivate colleagues and students required. • Demonstrated supervisory skills preferred. • CPR, First Aid and AD certification preferred. Instructor certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED preferred. Blood borne pathogen training preferred.
