This position will assist with the supervision of the three Recreational Sports and Fitness facilities including, but not limited to:
Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate all front desk staff. Provide monthly in-service training and staff meetings for all staff.
Direct the planning, coordination, and assessment of comprehensive front desk services. This includes: inventory control, access control, equipment rental, pro shop, and money handling.
Act as Manager on Duty a minimum of 10-12 hours a week. These duties include, but not limited to, supervision of the member services staff, fitness floor staff, lifeguards, and group exercise instructors; complete financial transactions for memberships and services; and serves as the overall point of contact for the facility.
Reach out across the AU campus to partner with, volunteer, and encourage participation with other units and office.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Recreation Administration, Sports Management or related field. At least 2 years of relevant work experience in facility supervision, personnel management, and member services. Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as computer troubleshooting experience. Current American Red Cross CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
Master’s degree preferred.

We also manage Cassell Fitness Center and Congressional Fitness Center. Cassell is approximately 8,000 square feet of fitness and multiple purpose studio space. Congressional is 1,000 square feet and primarily used for personal and small group training.
