Coordinate all University Recreation, Student Organization and University Department facility rentals through proper contract procedures; Coordinate the activities/events within UREC facilities to include event set up/tear down, adherence to policies and procedures, staff supervision and facility safety and cleanliness. This includes cooperative on-site management of areas of use in UREC facilities; Serve as the lead contact with professional team to ensure that information on all departmental activities, events, outside reservations, and university related matters is disseminated accurately to members and guests; Ensure that facility rental invoices are generated and reconciled in the timely manner; Conduct event and satisfaction assessments with all stakeholders and contracted events.
30% Facility Operations:
Manage and maintain UREC's 1,333 lockers spread over 2 facilities; Point of contact for vending refunds; Oversee operations relative to inventory purchasing for Pro Shop and open recreation; Conduct monthly safety assessments of operations to include the cataloging of accident/incidents;Provide consistent interpretation and enforcement of departmental policies and procedures; Support the Asst. Director in monitoring policies and procedures to provide for safe operation of facilities and programs; Provide feedback regarding departmental programs, equipment, and operations by conducting daily observations/engaging in programs and using equipment/facilities; Immediately report safety concerns to the functional area supervisor; Provide staff coverage during evenings, weekends, and special events as determined by department.
30% Administrative and Personnel:
Conduct assessments, write monthly reports, and maintain/track data to determine operational adjustments; Responsible for the training, scheduling, and evaluating of all Facility Program Assistants; Provide options and alternative decisions that impact the successful operation of university assets; Direct fiscal responsibility related to facility operations to include supplies, staffing, and open recreation; Oversee financial operations relating to facility operations including facility rentals, staffing, and equipment; Be active professionally through research, publications, presentations, speaking engagements, and involvement in professional associations; Represent University Recreation for various University/community functions, committee work, and other duties as assigned; Contribute positively to the work environment by participating in honest dialog that is indicative of the department’s culture of teamwork; Willingly shares all information with department teammates in an effort to provide high quality outcomes that contribute to student success; Maintains positive co-worker relationships and fosters an environment of trust and inclusion.
Bachelor's degree with one year of experience working in a collegiate recreation environment.
Master's degree with two years of experience.
American Red Cross Instructor certified in CPR and First Aid.
The function and purpose is to manage the internal campus reservations/rentals for the Department of University Recreation and serve as the day-of-event coordinator. Directly oversee the management and reconciling of all UREC lockers and items related to Pro Shop sales.
