The Coordinator of Competitive Sports plans, organizes, and administers the FIU Competitive Sports program.
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Competitive Sports program.
Manages the scheduling and administration of Intramural Sports leagues, tournaments, and events.
Manages the administration of the Sport Clubs program, including officer training and leadership development, budget and policy management, travel, and risk management.
Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates a diverse student staff of referees, field operations assistants, supervisors, and program assistants.
Responsible for planning, implementing and ongoing supervision of the FIU E-sports program.
Serves as an advisor to the Sport Clubs Executive Board.
Participates in the development and implementation of Competitive Sports policies and procedures.
Responsible for the management and inventory of all Competitive Sports equipment.
Assists with the annual Competitive Sports budget.
Assists with the facility management of two outdoor turf fields.
Participates in the development and implementation of the Wellness & Recreation Center policies.
Maintains confidentiality of records in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Participates on University committees and/or with other departments to effectively promote any Wellness & Recreation Center Services.
Performs related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in related discipline and two (2) years of experience in appropriate field (intramurals/sports officiating, sport clubs). Master's degree preferred.
Experience in managing a college/university intramural or competitive sports program and strong communication and presentation skills.
Must obtain CPR/Standard First Aid Certification within 45 days of employment.
