The Graduate Administrator for Facility Operations will assist in a wide variety of administrative and supervisory duties in the areas of personnel management, facility and event operations, risk management, policy and procedures enforcement, program management and statistical data collection and reporting, and is responsible for the management of open recreation equipment.
This position will regularly work nights and weekends for facility coverage and will report to the Facility Operations Coordinator.
Assist Facility Operations Coordinator in the effort to hire, onboard, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate Facility Managers & Facility Operations Attendants.
Create an environment promoting and fostering student learning and development, and establish a staff culture that supports the Recreational Sports mission and value
Manage open recreation equipment at all Recreational Sports facilities, including purchasing, inventory management, and checkout procedures.
Manage the towel service at all Recreational Sports facilities including towel ordering, checkout procedures, and customer service needs.
Serve as a Facility Operations Attendant, Facility Manager, or Event Manager, as needed.
Provide regular evening and weekend supervisory coverage.
Assist with conducting regular safety inspections of activities, facilities, and equipment and report work order needs to the appropriate person.
Assist with ensuring accidents and incidents are documented and followed up properly.
Maintain professional skill sets and certifications as appropriate for job responsibilities and as a professional.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Bachelor’s degree; prefer degree in recreation, physical education or related field.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Demonstrated experience in personnel management and staff development; ability to motivate and supervise staff.
Ability to take initiative, problem solve and meet deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Experience working in a campus recreation setting.
CPR/AED/First Aid Certified
Ability to function independently and as a member of a team in a constantly changing environment. Experience working with Innosoft Fusion Software.
Experience working with WhenToWork Scheduling Software.
