Job Summary: Under general direction, coordinate and deliver a diverse fitness and wellness program for the Duke University Faculty Club.
Manage, plan and implement club programs and services to include year-round fitness and wellness programming and general recreation opportunities.
Manage, train, schedule, and evaluate part-time year-round fitness staff, ensuring delivery of consistent excellence in programming.
Assist in long and short-term planning for program and facility budget expenditures; work with DFC management staff regarding expenditure monitoring, proper billing and resolution of disputed charges.
Communicate program opportunities, schedule changes and general club announcements to the membership through email, newsletter articles, social media, website, and personal interaction.
Assist in the development and coordination of marketing strategies and activities to generate continued growth of the DFC and its various programs and services.
Assist in the oversight of all DFC facilities insuring safety and cleanliness; Enforce all DFC rules and regulations governing the use of its facilities, equipment and other property.
Assist the DFC management staff in other club related activities and events as required.
Work to create a welcoming and vibrant environment that promotes safety, quality customer service, and excellence.
Work requires analytical, communication and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree program.
NCCA accredited fitness certification in either Group Exercise or Personal Training OR the ability to obtain it within 90 days of employment.
Work generally requires two years of professional experience in recreation management, including supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
Demonstrated administrative and management abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, high levels of energy, enthusiasm and motivation, maturity, and the ability to work effectively with members and other professional staff.
Ability to multi-task and reprioritize continuously throughout the workday.
Organized, detailed oriented, and highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Competent computer skills; Windows environment.
Ability to work flexible hours, to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the responsibilities of the position.
