An internship with the Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District offers a terrific opportunity to gain practical work experience and to turn collegiate knowledge into real, tangible, positive impacts on the community. The Park District internship program is designed with flexibility to meet the unique needs of each intern, while offering a wide variety of experiences and opportunities for professional development and personal growth. Both at work and in everyday life, Park District interns enjoy the connections made daily with Bainbridge Island’s gorgeous natural habitats, active and engaged community members, and passionate Park District staff. Positions available are Special Events, Aquatics, General Rec and/or Youth & Teen.

About Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Rec
For 50 years the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District has served the community through its stewardship of parks, and by providing recreational and cultural programs to Islanders of all ages. Many of the recent Open Space purchases have been transferred to the Park District, increasing the Island’s park inventory to over 1500 acres, over 90% of which is protected open space.The District is committed to providing a wide variety of leisure programs for all ages and interest groups including senior citizens and persons with disabilities. The recreation program is supported in a major way by user fees with class fees being subsidized by tax dollars.
