This is a part-time, nine month position which will work August 1, 2019 - April 30, 2020. This position will work approximately 20 hours per week and is non-benefit eligible. The Club Sports Strength and Conditioning Coach will work collaboratively with the Senior Director of Intramural and Club Sports to develop and execute strength and conditioning programs for club sports.
Club Sports: Develop customized strength and conditioning programs for club sport student-athletes. Teach proper training techniques in the weight room for improved athletic performance. Supervise and instruct year round strength and conditioning program for Club Sports. Collaborate with athletic training staff in the rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Assist in the overall supervision of weight room facilities including ensuring proper maintenance of equipment, monitoring compliance of safety procedures and proper etiquette. Maintain knowledge of current trends, practices and techniques related to strength and conditioning programming. The Strength and Conditioning Coach will also teach a weekly Group X fitness class.
Risk Management: Serve as primary risk manager for Club Sports during training. Ensure compliance with risk management, injury protocol and emergency action plans.
Administration: Assist with implementation of Club Sports Physical Activity credit opportunities that contribute to the signature student experience at Colorado School of Mines. Maintain accurate attendance and training records for each athlete and team. Assist with the purchasing, inventory, and maintenance of program related equipment.
Facility Coordinator: Assist with scheduling and maintenance of the weight room space and time allocated to Club Sports.
Additional Salary Information: Anticipated 12 hours per week.
