This full-time position will assist the Director of Campus Rec & Wellness in meeting the mission of the programs and the goals of its students and members. The primary responsibility of this position is the implementation of the SAA Campus Rec & Wellness Sport Activities program including leagues, club sports, and tournament programs. The position will be responsible for creating engaging programs tailored to the participants needs at East Stroudsburg University. Position requires travel, driving vehicles, and some late night and weekend hours.
Leagues & Tournaments:
Create and implement the program’s annual calendar that includes a diverse sport/event selection, individual and team sign-ups, team scheduling, game reporting, and championships.
Prepare, review and make available rules for each activity offered.
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, evaluate, schedule and process payment for Sport Supervisor(s) and Officials.
Manage the set up and scheduling of leagues and tournaments in IMLeagues or other equivalent team scheduling systems
Manage the SAA Campus Rec & Wellness rental equipment ensuring proper distribution, inventory, damage fees, and equipment returns.
Officiate league games, matches, and/or tournaments when needed.
Oversee the administration of all club sport organizations including verifying participation clearance, budgeting, scheduling of practice/contests, developing leadership skills, fundraising, hazing prevention/intervention, and implementing club sports and campus wide student organization policies and procedures.
Create and implement club officer and participant leadership/management training program(s).
Coordinate clubs’ facility use requests.
Assist club leaders with planning and organizing activities, tournaments and contests.
Review and approve participant/player eligibility, club forms, travel itineraries and other related paperwork.
Catalogue, track and procure club equipment.
Assist club officers with contracts, budget requests, and fundraising as well as approve all expenditures.
Manage the annual Sport Activity budget, including cash collection and monthly reconciliation.
Aid in the development and revision of Campus Rec & Wellness facility, programs and training manuals.
Implement risk management procedures in all programs.
Assist with the development of the SAA Campus Rec & Wellness budget.
Collaborate with various campus departments to promote engagement in healthy activities and programs across campus.
Supervise night, weekend, and/or holiday SAA Campus Rec & Wellness activities and programs.
Assist with development and implementation of the department’s learning outcomes, strategic plan and assessments.
Assist in the promotion and marketing of all SAA Campus Rec & Wellness programs.
Assist with general supervision, maintenance, up keep, and set-up/break down of all SAA Campus Rec & Wellness equipment.
Demonstrate a commitment to the issues of social equity and continue to develop professionally in the area of multicultural competence
Continue professional development relevant to the improvement of Campus Rec & Wellness
Attend regional/national conferences while supervising student delegates
Perform other related duties as assigned by Director of Campus Rec & Wellness and/or the Executive Director of the Student Activity Association
Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, Recreation, Physical Education or related field.
Two or more years’ experience in administering sport programs.
Experience training, evaluating, and developing officials
College, high school and/or club sports officiating experience
Master’s Degree in Sports Management, Recreation, Physical Education or related field.
Experience with Club Sports or student organizations
CPR, AED and First Aid Instructor Certification.
Programming experience such as development, implementation, and assessment of successful recreation/activity programs
Ability to bend and squat; and stand or sit for extended periods of time
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
Must have a valid state issued driver’s license
