Under the direct supervision of the Intramural and Camp Supervisor, assists with the day to day programs of intramural, camps, and supervision of the student intramural supervisors, and the student sports officials.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in oversight of the day to day operations of the Intramural Sports and Summer Camps Programs.
Assist in managing participants in the programs in overseeing eligibility, disciplinary review, and other communications
Lead meetings with student staff and captains or participants regarding policies and procedures.
Aids in developing, reviewing, and implementing appropriate policies and procedures for all programs.
Assists in the training and evaluating of the intramural student personnel.
Works with the SRAC marketing department to implement marketing and interest campaigns to promote the intramural sports program through a variety of platforms.
Assists with annual budget and understands the importance achieving budget targets and financial goals.
Inventory and maintain all equipment for day to day operations and provide feedback for long term planning of equipment maintenance and purchase.
Actively participates in NIRSA sponsored extramural tournaments and special events.
Assist in creating new program offerings to fit a diverse campus population
Support summer camp program by understanding risk management surrounding camps, assists with training of student staff, and helps with the development of summer camp activities.
Hours:12pm-9pm Monday-Thursday. Fridays 11am-7pm or as appropriate with IM Schedule, which might include weekends. Hours may adjust during summer programming or non-programming periods (winter break, etc.).
Experience advising and providing guidance to student leaders.
Ability to coordinate, organize and prioritize projects with attention to detail.
Experience developing working relationships with student leaders, student organizations, and campus group users within a very diverse community.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Demonstrate high level of customer service.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a diverse environment.
Qualifications and Specifications
Bachelor’s degree in recreation, sports administration, physical education, or related field.
Experience administering collegiate intramural sports program (graduate assistantship is applicable).
Demonstrated supervisory experience, which may include student staff.
First Aid, CPR, AED certification is preferred, or the ability to obtain within 3 months of employment.
High School level or higher sports officiating experience.
Demonstrated experience training student officials in at least two sports.
Actively involved in the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) in regards to extramural tournaments and professional development opportunities.
At least two years of experience administering collegiate intramural sports and sports clubs (graduate assistantship may be applicable)
Experience using social media platforms to enhance brand identity
Experience with some or all of the following software programs: IMLeagues, Innosoft Fusion, Microsoft Office/Google Forms, WhenToWork or related scheduling software.
Knowledge and ability to interpret industry standards related to risk management and safety of participants an intramural and recreational sports setting.
This position is non-exempt from the provisions of Section 1 of the California Industrial Welfare Commission Orders.
