The primary responsibility of the position is the development, delivery, management and direct supervision of intramural, club sport and special event programs. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the day to day management and operation of the Campus Recreation unit.
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Provide supervision and direction for the intramural sports program; establish guidelines, leagues, and schedules.
Provide supervision and direction for the club sports; ensure compliance of club sports, recreational sports, and university policies & procedures by Club Sports teams, coaches, participants and staff; manage the approval of expenditures from department, gift, and agency accounts for Club Sports teams.
Recruit, hire, train, schedule, evaluate, supervise student staff, necessary to support all programs (sports officials, contract employees, special event staff, etc.). Manage payroll/time sheets for personnel and student employees. Provide staff coverage during evenings, weekends, and special events as determined by department & function need; conduct annual evaluations of student staff.
Develop, implement and maintain risk management policies and procedures for the facility and related to specific program assignments. Ensure all required training and education programs are implemented for all areas of oversight.
Provide publicity and materials for all assigned programs, including flyers, email, website, etc.; manage all social media platforms for intramural sports, and review club held accounts for appropriate use.
Maintain statistical information of program participants and prepare program and monthly reports.
Additional duties as assigned the department or the university.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in recreation, physical education, sports management or related field and a minimum of two years' related experience to include supervision and development program. Must possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/BCLS certification.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
