Assist with the supervision of daily operations within the Jefferson Recreation & Fitness Center, including staff coverage, the customer membership experience and facility maintenance. Supervises, schedules and trains all Federal Work Study students ensuring proper knowledge procedures and policies ensuring safety compliance and high level customer service. Oversee and design major programming initiatives such as intramural sports, group exercise, off campus trips and the JRFC personal training. Have an expert understanding of facility management system and all of its functionalities and provide exceptional customer service.
Oversee, develop, coordinate and promote the recreation sports program. Update annual Intramural Handbook and IMLegues.com with timely, accurate information; schedule appropriate playing facilities accordingly.
Train, coach, discipline, supervise and evaluate part-JRFC employees, including lifeguards, issue counter attendants, recreation aides, group fitness instructors, personal trainers and fitness interns. Perform annual performance appraisals for full-time employees. Maintain communication with all Wellness Center employees regarding current policies, procedures and programming. Schedule and coordinate monthly staff meetings. Follow-up with staff regarding specific projects and departmental objectives on a regular basis.
Utilizing facility management system, maintain utilization, membership, participation and financial data critical to the mission of the JRFC. Provide monthly updates to the Director and the JRFC Advisory Committee.
Works collororatively with the Financial Aid department to coordinate the hiring and on-boarding all Federal Work Study students who are essential to the JRFC operations.
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson.
Review “MyTime” Time Keeping platform to assure all staff members have logged hours correctly, been given the proper amount of ETO when necessary and that all approvals have been secured at the end of each pay period
Develop marketing strategies to assure that information relating to all departmental events, programs, disruptions and announcements is displayed, published and advertised in timely, professional and coordinated fashion using all media platforms available to the JRFC.
Update and maintain JRFC & Student Life & Engagement website and membership webportal managed by Innosoft Fusion
Assist the Director in preparing the annual budget and in compiling current year revenue projections.
Develops regular, timely reports on program evaluation, usage statistics, membership revenue data and other relevant data as requested.
Administer immediate First Aid when necessary, keep a properly stocked first aid kit, and document all injuries on appropriate incident report form and according to established guidelines.
Stay up to date on the latest trends in higher education recreation and fitness programming nationwide
2 years previous experience in collegiate recreation and fitness required
Experience with Innosoft Fusion is strongly preferred
Valid CPR certification, must obtain within 60 days of hire
