Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of the University’s natatorium and providing oversight to the intramural sports program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: facility management, personnel management, program management, fiscal management, and risk management.

Work with University Facilities and Custodial staffs, student employees, and third-party vendors to manage the natatorium and coordinate facility preparedness for intramural sports.
Coordinate scheduling of the pool for varsity sports, club sports, and rec swim.
Coordinate and manage rentals of the pool.
Develop, implement, and update policies and procedures for pool usage and maintenance.
Develop and implement facility improvement plan for the natatorium.
Prepare facilities for swim meets, water polo matches and other events in the pool.
Serve as game day manager for varsity Swimming and Diving and Water Polo.
Complete and distribute Olympic sport event manuals.
Attend annual conferences to remain up-to-date on aquatics operational and management standards.
Work with third party service providers to ensure the pool meets local, state, and federal compliance and code standards.
Project Manager for maintenance, renovation, and /or construction projects involving the natatorium and other athletic and recreational facilities as assigned.
Create and coordinate facility safety plans.
Submit and track facility work requests to ensure completion in a timely fashion.
Secure facility reservations for intramural sports.
Coordinator will also assist in the management of other athletic and recreation facilities, as needed.
Oversee the hiring, scheduling, training, and evaluation of Student Lifeguards and the Intramural Sports Intern.
Manage approximately 20 student lifeguards.
Conduct ongoing student employee training sessions to ensure preparedness for emergency response.
Provide direct supervision to student lifeguards and ensure compliance with department expectations.
Conduct annual student employee evaluations.
Oversee student employee payroll management for lifeguards and Intramural Sports employees.
Provide direct supervision to the Intramural Sports Intern.
Responsible for the evaluation, management, and enhancement of aquatic and intramural programs.
Manage master’s swim program.
Assess and develop open rec swim policies.
Monitor and record daily pool participation statistics for open rec swim.
Maintain aquatics website.
Communicate changes in facility schedules to pool users and University constituents.
Provide continuity to and promote the development of intramural sports.
Implement cost-effective management tactics to maintain fiscal responsibility.
Manage lifeguard, intramural sports, and natatorium maintenance budgets.
Work to develop revenue-generating programming in the pool.
Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures for the Pavilion Pool.
Support the implementation of sound risk management practices for intramural sports and recreational facilities.
Ensure employee certification requirements are met for student lifeguards and intramural employees.
Coordinate on-going first response training.
Perform monthly AED maintenance tests.
Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Experience in aquatic facility and operations management required.
2-3 years’ experience in athletics administration, specifically in facilities and aquatics management. Intramural Sports management is a plus.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines.
Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the abilities to pay close attention to details, interact effectively with others, and delegate appropriately.
Proficiency with personal computer applications.
Must have experience in budget planning, facility scheduling and developing risk management procedures.
Master’s Degree preferred (Sports Management or related field).
Management experience and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations preferred.
Lifeguard and Pool Operator Certifications preferred.
