Position Summary: As an integral member of Stonehill College’s Department of Athletics, the Recreational Sports Manager will support the Assistant AD, Recreational Sports in creating and implementing a variety of recreational programs and activities to serve our student, staff, faculty and community populations. Primary areas of focus include intramural sports, group exercise and fitness activities and support of club sport and indoor sports facility management. In addition, this position will be responsible for the management of Stonehill Summer Sports Camps.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as a leader in fostering a campus culture in which differences are embraced and works to advance the College’s mission of diversity and inclusion.
Deliver a safe and engaging recreation and fitness environment for the use of all community members
Provide recreational sport opportunities to serve a variety of interest and ability levels
Manage successful operation of intramural sport programs
Assist in managing sports facility scheduling and operations
Organize and manage Stonehill summer sport camp operations, staffing, marketing, registration and customer service components
Help coordinate marketing initiatives to promote Recreational Sport participation
Hire, train and manage student staff to assist in a variety of recreational sport areas
Ensure compliance with all policies, rules and regulations set forth by Stonehill College and associated member organizations
Assist with building supervision
Student staff, club sport coaches

One year of professional experience in the administration and implementation of intramural sports, club sports, recreational or student activity programs and events, youth programs, and/or related field.
One year of demonstrated experience in sport league and event management, including organizing, coordinating game and facility scheduling, mitigating risk, implementation and evaluation of sport and/or youth programs.
One year of demonstrated experience in student supervision, advising, training/development, and evaluation of student employees, club sport officers, club sport coaches, and/or practicum/interns.
One year of demonstrated experience in sports officiating and sport rule application as well as ability to hire, train, supervise, and evaluate sport officials.
Experience coordinating youth camps including staff oversight, marketing and registration.
Demonstrated understanding of the College’s Catholic mission and identity and how Catholic traditions and values enhance the student experience
Ability to work evenings, weekends and non-traditional hours
Demonstrated commitment to embracing and advancing diversity and inclusion in all aspects of campus life
Proven commitment to diversity, equity, and the academic, intellectual, and social development of all students
Ability to work collaboratively with interdepartmental offices, athletic staff and other institutional areas

Demonstrate effective and consistent customer service focus, including listening, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university required; three to five years related athletic and recreation experience required.
