The soccer coach reports directly to the Athletic Director and is responsible for assisting in the organization and administration of the men’s soccer program in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by Vaughn College, the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
The head men’s soccer coach must have a commitment to developing a competitive soccer program, while maintaining an emphasis on the academic success of the student-athlete. The soccer coach will be expected to assist in managing recruitment efforts, academic success, and ensure the program promotes the health, safety and welfare of the student-athlete.
Teaching all aspects of soccer while exhibiting thorough knowledge of the sport, coaching strategies, and player development.
Recruit and retain student-athletes.
Adhere to the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) rules and regulations.
Work within the framework of the Department of Athletics administration and coaches.
Communicate effectively with students, faculty, administration, staff and alumni.
Assist in scheduling games as directed by the Athletic Director.
Create fundraising activities for the soccer team.
Coordinate and implement academic student hall sessions for our student-athletes.

Education and/or Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required.
1-2 years of previous coaching experience required.
Candidate must have great communication skills, as well as, strong writing and verbal skills. Must be team oriented. Computer software skills are vital. Examples include; Microsoft word, Microsoft excel, and the ability to use recruiting databases to recruit prospective student-athletes.
The candidate will be required to recruit student-athletes to the institution. Must meet deadlines set by membership conferences, and associations, for all athletic information and player nominations.
Work environment and physical functions
This position is located in an office environment. Generally, an employee needs to be able to sit, stand, and navigate within the office area. The office equipment either individually used or shared with a department is the responsibility of all employees.
Previous collegiate coaching experience at the Division III level or higher.
Experience recruiting student-athletes and usage of recruiting databases
