Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Intramural Sports & Sport Clubs Programs, the Intramural Sports & Sport Clubs Coordinator will provide organization, leadership and management of comprehensive Intramural Sports and Sport Clubs services and programs provided by the Department of University Recreation (https://uwm.edu/urec/). Additionally, the individual will assist with promotional event coordination and staffing. Evening and weekend work will be required.
Applicants for these positions must have:
• A Bachelor’s Degree or greater in Recreation, Sports Management and/or Administration or related field (must have earned degree by June 1, 2019); and • At least one year of full-time work experience in recreational sports programming (a 2-year recreational sports graduate assistant-ship will satisfy this requirement).
Highly qualified candidates will also have:
• A Master’s Degree in Recreation, Sports Management and/or Administration or related field or completion of a Master’s Degree by starting date; • At least one year of full-time work experience in a competitive sports environment in a higher education setting (a 2-year recreational sports graduate assistant-ship will satisfy this requirement); • Experience in training, hiring, and scheduling student sport officials in a higher education setting in one or more of the following sports: basketball, flag football, soccer and/or volleyball; • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to use computer software and applications such as Fusion, Fusion IM, SubItup, Word Press and Microsoft Office Suite or comparable alternatives; • Experience in collaboratively coordinating and leading promotional and special events; • Experience in student development, mentoring, and leadership training; • Experience in assisting student groups in budget development; • Experience in assisting groups with travel arrangements; • Experience in managing and mitigating risk related to participation in recreation and sport activities; • A valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification; and • A demonstrated commitment to the core values of the Division of Student Affairs, which can be viewed at http://uwm.edu/studentaffairsadminservices/pages/about-us/division-of-student-affairs-core-values/

Additional Salary Information: This is a 12-month full-time Academic Staff position. This position comes with a competitive salary and benefit package. The starting salary offer will be dependent upon the finalist’s experience and qualifications.
