The Coordinator of Operations works collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Operations and Competitive Sports to provide leadership in daily facility operations of Maclellan Gym and the Aquatic & Recreation Center. This position will assist in the coordination of day-to-day events, memberships, and marketing for the department.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee the management of all team members in the facility operations area of Campus Recreation. This includes: Building Supervisors (10), and Customer Service Representatives (30-35) Personnel serving in these roles are responsible for building safety and security, cleaning equipment, maintenance functions, equipment check-out, facility opening and closing procedures, emergency response, and resolving customer service and access issues.
Conduct daily facility and equipment inspections throughout Campus Recreation facilities and correct minor deficiencies in-house or through the appropriate University or external channels. This includes recreational spaces and equipment.
Work collaboratively with Assistant Director of Campus Recreation – Operations and Competitive Sports of major deficiencies or immediate problems affecting patron safety and security; Coordinate annual Campus Recreation shutdown for department
Assist with the creation and monitoring of the Campus Recreation Operations program budget including student wages.
Assist in developing a repair and replacement budget for all furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E); Maintain and purchase inventory of all operating and equipment supplies
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree; managerial or supervisory experience with student staff; experience with building maintenance; certifications in CPR and First Aid; and computer, budget and scheduling skills needed.
Preferred Qualifications: A Master’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or related field.
