Administer and implement a comprehensive, campus-wide Intramural Sports program including leagues and tournaments comprised of gender specific, co-ed, recreational, and competitive programs. Train, schedule, and supervise student staff to accomplish program goals and to manage facilities, both indoor and outdoor.
Implement and review program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Assist and support budget planning, monitor expenses, as well as assess, promote, and market program offerings. Serve as the department liaison and primary contact for departmental and campus-wide Special Events throughout the year. These events will promote Recreation programs and build relationships with our campus clientele. Assist with Sport Clubs, Camp C-Woo and special group event rentals of the Recreation Center.
Develop annual Intramural Sports and Special Events program which offers 10-15 activities per quarter. Expand offerings to meet student demand.
Administer the participant registration process for approximately 1,200 students per quarter
Work collaboratively with Dean of Student Success units on programming
Planning, organization, execution and evaluation of a formal training program for sport officials and intramural supervisors.
Collaborate with the Scheduling Center and facility managers regarding facility reservations.
Manage intramural team travel and ensure all University and purchasing requirements are followed.
Coordinate and administer intramural and special event program marketing efforts.
Determine and recommend the purchase of needed equipment and supplies.
Directly responsible for managing the Intramural Sports and Special Events budget.
Participates in the sourcing, soliciting, and/or acquisition of funding, as appropriate to the operating mode of the
Actively recruit underrepresented and special population individuals for program participation.
Participate in the planning and development of regional/national sporting events and tournaments.
Implement technology resources to support program needs and requirements.
Oversee the enforcement of administrative and operational policies and procedures in Intramural Sports
Actively engages in recruitment and hiring new employees.

Assist with Camp CWOO off-campus field trips.

Provide feedback regarding departmental programs, equipment, and operations by conducting daily observations/engaging in programs and using equipment/facilities.
Reports & resolves safety concerns with functional area supervisors as needed.
Is active professionally through research, publications, presentations or involvement in professional associations.
Represent University Recreation for various University/community functions and/or committee work.
Contribute positively to the work environment by participating in honest dialog that is indicative of the department’s culture of teamwork.
Willingly shares all information with department teammates in an effort to provide high quality outcomes that contribute to student success.
Provide staff coverage during evenings, weekends, and special events as needed.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education
Experience in Physical Education or Recreation
One year of significant responsibility for program planning and administration
Experience in sports officiating and officials development
Risk management knowledge and experience as it relates to recreational/athletic events
Valid Driver’s License
Excellent interpersonal skills
CPR & First Aid training must be completed within 30 days of hire
Must attend the University van driver-training course and pass the exam within the first 3 months of employment
Master’s Degree in relevant field
Thorough knowledge and understanding of rules of play for flag football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, dodgeball, badminton, tennis, and/or racquetball
Experience working in a collegiate recreation environment
Demonstrated conflict resolution skills

Experience working with League Scheduling Software, basic word processing, and spreadsheets (MS Office)
